Alessia Cara blew the roof off of Montreal’s Corona Theatre to start off her first ever tour. At only 17 she sang every single song from her brand new album in front of thousands of crazy fans.
It’s like Alessia’s been performing for decades, I sure couldn’t tell she was just starting out this new North American tour. She’s got a voice like no other and she makes it all look so effortless, it’s impressive. The girl jumped on stage in distressed black jeans, a simple t-shirt with the title to her first single ”Here” in the back and her famous beanie on. It was so refreshing to see her be so simple with her performance yet manage to blow our minds with her presence and talent. Goes to show that you don’t need to go over-the-top to make your audience have a good time! It was really all about how much fun she was having with all of us and how passionate and talented she was.
Her opening act just so happens to be her guitar player Craig Stickland and I might have fallen in love with him… I mean, yes, he’s good looking but he’s also got an amazing soulful voice and crazy good songs. His new EP just came out and it’s worth picking up on iTunes, you won’t want to listen to anything else! (ok, you might just want to listen to some of Alessia’s stuff too)
You can catch them on tour around North America and the UK for the next 3 months or so! Tickets are still available for a few dates, visit Alessia’s website for more info.
Check out my Snapchat (iamjustfred) if you want a preview of what you’ll get to see on tour, you have just a little less than 24hours!!!
You can also pick up her new album on iTunes and in store, you won’t regret it.
***Seeing great canadians go out there and follow their dreams only makes me more proud of where I am from. On this note, I would like to pay my respect to René Angélil who’s one of the many reasons I am proud to be french canadian. He’s one of the few people who are responsible for my passion for artist management! Seeing how far he and his wife have come can only inspire all of us no mater where we are from. My condolences go to his family; I really hope they get the privacy they deserve while they go through these though moments. Please remember that no mater how ”famous” some people are some things should always be dealt with in complete privacy…
Reposez en paix monsieur Angélil!
